Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) / Facility Security Officer (FSO)

INTS2 is hiring an ISSM/FSO to support a cleared defense contractor in West Caldwell, New Jersey. This is a hybrid role with 3 days per week on-site at the customer location, plus 2 days remote. The engagement is approximately 6 months, with potential for extension based on customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the ISSM and FSO for the customer site, executing all duties under 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM) and applicable NIST SP 800-53 controls
  • Maintain and update the System Security Plan (SSP), security policies, and procedures
  • Coordinate with DCSA on facility clearance status, change conditions, and inspection preparation
  • Manage Personnel Security Clearance (PCL) submissions, periodic reinvestigations, and continuous evaluation
  • Deliver initial and annual security education and training to cleared personnel
  • Manage classified holdings — receipt, accountability, storage, transmission, and destruction
  • Conduct self-inspections and prepare for DCSA inspections
  • Report adverse information, suspicious contacts, and change conditions per NISPOM requirements

Required qualifications

  • Active U.S. Secret clearance (or higher), no exceptions
  • 3+ years of experience as an FSO or ISSM in a cleared defense contractor environment
  • Completion of the CDSE FSO curriculum for Possessing Facilities
  • Working knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), NIST SP 800-171, and NIST SP 800-53
  • Direct experience interacting with DCSA Industrial Security Representatives
  • U.S. citizenship

Preferred qualifications

  • ISSM/ISSO certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CAP, or equivalent IAM Level II per DoD 8570.01-M)
  • Prior experience managing CMMC 2.0 compliance posture for a small defense contractor
  • Experience with OPSEC program development per DoDD 5205.02E
